Researchers have found that women who take brisk walks regularly are less likely to develop Breast cancer after menopause. A study collected data from almost 100,000 postmenopausal women and deduced that an hour of brisk walking or any equivalent physical activity significantly lowers the chances of breast cancer.
The author of the study, Dr. A. Heather Eliassen told Reuters Health that exercise was one of the few factors affecting the onset of breast cancer that can be controlled by women themselves. Family history and the age when women begin menstruating are other factors which affect the risk factor for developing cancer.
