“FDCI” to showcase 28 of India's Best designers at VHIMW
Fashion Design Council of India, FDCI, has made the formal announcement of the first annual ‘Van Heusen India Mens Week’ and unveiled the logo of the forthcoming event, recently. The fashion show is scheduled to be held from September 11–13, 2009 at The Grand,New Delhi. The announcement was followed by the release of the names of 28 designers who will showcase the best of India's talent. The names of the 28 designers who have been selected to showcase their talent are as follows: Zubair Kirmani, Vijay AroraTarun, Tahiliani Siddartha, Tytler Shantanu & Nikhil, Samant Chauhan, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Rohit Bal, Rocky S, Rina Dhaka, Ravi Bajaj, Rajvi Mohan, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Priyadarshini Rao, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Narendra Kumar, Ahmed Manoviraj Khosla, Kotwara by Meera & Muzaffar Ali, JJ Valaya, Himmat Singh, Gunjan & Rahul, Gaurav Gupta,, Fightercock by Abhishek Gupta & Nandita Basu, Ezma, Aslam Khan, Ashish N Soni, ANKY m and Abraham & Thakore. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Designers are the core of the fashion industry and play an important role in shaping fashion trends in India. We have received an overwhelming response from the designers who want to participate in the Van Heusen India Mens Week. An eminent jury has drawn up a list consisting of both reputed and budding designers who have the right blend of creativity and commercial viability.These designers will present their collection of menswear and accessories. A total of 15 shows are scheduled to be staged within a time span of three days. The VHIMW promises to display the very best of Indian men’s fashion industry under one roof at one point in time. The event is believed to be the biggest fashion trade event for men.
