Dual Tone Stockings vs Single Solid Stockings – Style Poll

October 18, 2013 by benaifer

Gone are the days when only flesh-tone and black stockings made the cut for a stylish ensemble. Colors are celebrated now like never before from head to toe and plenty of fashionistas are clearing wardrobe space for colorful stockings. And with the color options comes the option to sport two colors at once i.e. dual tone stockings.

The single solid stockings are exactly what they sound like – stockings which are one solid color all over. As for the dual tone ones, they boast a different color on each leg.

The single solid stockings are statement, without a doubt, and loads of fun to boot. They will work amazingly in a color block look, or they can be used to add a pop of color to an otherwise sedate ensemble.

As for the dual tone stockings, they are double of everything that solid stockings are about. So they are twice as fun and make a much louder statement. However, these are a little harder to style as it is very easy to end up looking funny in them, and we don’t mean that in a good way.

But there’s one  thing that the dual tone stockings have over the solid ones and that is that they are quirky. It’s an unexpected look and the very unpredictability of it will draw attention to your ensemble regardless of what else you are wearing.

We just can’t decide which one trumps the other. Both types have plenty going for them and you couldn’t love one over the other because even personal style tends to change from day to day. We’d just get both pairs and switch between them depending on our mood.

What about you? Are you a single solid girl or do you prefer variety in your stockings options?
