Avant-garde beach trends are set and broken each year at the Mercedes-Benz Swim Fashion Week at Miami, Florida. One of the most wearable and chic collections was the Suboo Swimwear Presentation for Spring/ Summer 2013 during on July 22, 2012.
The Australian lifestyle label has evolved from accessories to high fashion swimwear with the designer Sue Di Chio creating a niche aesthetic in a short span. The focus is on clean lines, bright prints and colors. The line is ideal for a holiday in sand or even a breezy cocktail gala. The silhouettes are adaptable and easy to wear, maybe the reason behind it being a hit with celebs like Miranda Kerr.
The Collection
Against serene resort backdrops, Suboo chose to visualize vivid graphics. Be it in the form of digital painterly strokes, textures forming an interesting visual or bolid solid panels placed with prints or drape lines creating a subtle pictorial.
The collection offered stylish pieces for all women for an array of relaxed occasions. From bikinis, monokinis, bandeaus to sultry cover ups and beach maxis. The statement jewelery, nude sandals, coral pink lips and the side braid hairstyles all added up to a unique fashion inspiration.
For the Bold – Bikinis and monokinis
If you happen to be blessed with a great body, then abiding the unwritten beach code – you must flaunt it! Suboo offers great curve hugging monokinis and bikinis in flattering prints.
This season they opted for monotones and black and white miniature prints tempered with digitally. The solid color panels in the monokinis take focus on the curves and create a bold visual. The halter monokini with it’s low cut neckline oozes sensuality and a bronzed cleavage looks lovely with it.
The bandeau bikini with a statement neckpiece saves the collarbones from looking empty and must-do styling tip. The side braid along with coral yellow eyes and pink lips gives a stunning beach appeal.
For the Trendy– Cover ups
If a balance between sexy and mystery is what you strive for choose a cover up with your bikini. The lime green bikini bottom featuring string detail looks refreshing with loose tank in sheer white highlighted by a bold yoke of geometric colors. The choice of colors is impeccable and hits all the right bright, pastel and metallic trends.
A versatile white cover-up can take you through many seasons and this one has such wonderful detailing that we just want to own one ourselves. The draw-string neckline paired up with a flowy silhouette looks even more exquisite with the sheer panels and intricate crochet upper half.
For the Chic – Beach Maxis
Suboo offered a cluster of beach maxis, all connected yet miles apart aesthetically to appeal to a lot of sensibilities. This maxi is lightly pleated and features color blocking geometric forms all over. The cinching triangles at the waist despite the flowy silhouette only by the virtue of placement deserves applaud.
A bustier maxi with a high slit in lime green is all you need for an evening on the yacht. The cut-out details at the bust and the waist along with a statement color stole the show for us.
Did you hear Pantone declared tangerine as the color of the year? Rightly so a number on similar lines makes all the sense. The beauty of this one lies in its drape and asymmetric hemline. The cyan neckpiece worn along is an added charm we recommend.
Painterly artistic strokes were spotted all over resort this season. And Suboo weaved magic with the choice of colors and silhouette. The cross-strap neckline is a brilliant detail and we would love to see it in tanks too.
