The British Soap Opera Awards 2012 were held at the ITV Studios in South Bank, London on April 28. Needless to say, the red carpet was teeming with beautiful women in awe-inspiring ensembles. What we were even more thrilled with though was the variety of gorgeous hairdos on display.
Amy Downham looks chic in her classic wavy updo with her blunt bangs combed down the front.
Gemma Merna’s wavy updo has a soft, romantic feel to it. Pulled back in a low style, her blonde hair is given a bit of volume with a slight bouffant. Wisps of stray hair left loose give the wavy updo a relaxed look.
The chignon has always been the epitome of femininity and sophistication. Hetti Bywater exudes both with her blonde hair done up in a side chignon with her bangs swept to the side over her forehead.
Meryl Fernandes generally favors a messy top knot. This time, it was a slightly sleeker version although not entirely prim and proper as you can see a few wisps of hair left loose around her ears and on the top knot as well. Since she hasn’t used hair products to slick it down, you can actually feel the softness of her hair just by looking at it.
Tamaryn Payne is drama all the way. Her gigantic sleek top knot dominates her look without overwhelming it. We love how it glams up her look and the red carpet.
While not exactly a top knot, Holly Weston’s updo definitely reminds you of this style. Her top knot bow is trendy and adorable, an apt hairstyle choice for a polka-dotted outfit.
Helen Skelton seems to be channeling a bit of Amy Winehouse with her hairstyle. Her blonde hair pulled up in a slightly less dramatic beehive than the late singer, Helen’s hairdo is a bit retro which suits her makeup and jewelry just fine.
