What could be more perfect then having some of the most ingenious designers coming up with a range in one of the hottest colors this season? Designers all around have been kicking off 2012 with the sizzling new orange hue.
Tangerine Tango has been termed as the new “It” shade by the global color authority Pantone. Orange color has been soaring high in popularity for quite a long time. It is sophisticated, dramatic and regal at the same time. Resonant of the ecstatic shades of a beautiful dusk, this majestic color is a result of the combination of a grandiose red with the cordiality of yellow to form this strikingly irresistible hue that springs out hotness and vigor.
Simple and Elegant
One of the top designers Carolina Herrera had this color in her Fall/Winter 2012 collection during the Mercedes Benz Fashion week. The tangerine tango colored gown looked absolutely fantastic with black accents on the neck, waist and the sleeves. The gown looked utterly vivacious and elegant at the same time.
Working on the same lines was another talented designer Zang Toi who also showcased his collection at the Mercedes Benz Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show. The gown looked majestic with a long cape trail. It was an absolutely plain tangerine gown which was fitted at the waist and fell straight. It had a chic enclosed neckline which would totally settle down for a stately affair.
Delicate and Subtle
Keeping on the lines of extreme feminity, designer label Marchesa by George Chapman and Keren Craig showcased their collection at the Plaza Hotel during the New York fashion week. They stuck to their brand identity introducing sheer fabrics with delicate cut works. This beautiful gown only added more grace with the tangerine tango base. The gown was completely in one tone but what beautified it was the delicate pleating and twisting on the surface. The sleeves were interesting with the entire gather near the armhole. The neck was part of the bodice with a thin line running down the chest. The fabric was gathered into a beautiful ruffle below the pelvic. The color and design brought life into the garment.
Another gorgeous piece from the label was this nude net base cut work ensemble. It absolutely took our breath away. The top has a nude net base with exquisite 3 dimensional roses and leaves patched on symmetrically. From the neck to the mid waist and the sleeve were entirely worked on a pattern basis and definitely looked marvelous.
Structure and Volume
Falling on the lines of structure was designer Corey Lynn Calter who also showcased at the Mercedes Benz fashion week Fall/Winter 2012. The mid waist tangerine tango coast looked chic and smart with matching pants and a grey and pink toned sweater inside. It gets full marks on simplicity but the color catches the intensity in the garment. Also the pink accents further accentuate the color and bring out its liveliness.
Also on the lines of structure and volume is the upcoming designer Kevork Kiledjian who also showcased his collection at the same event. The tangerine fur coat looked euphoric with matching plain leather pants and gloves. Even though there was no second tone to break it, it still looked exhilarating. The color gets on to you creating an adrenaline rush.
Dual Shades
Getting on to the dual tones was the designers Stephen Burrows who showcased at the Audi Forum during the New York fashion Week. The one piece dress looked modish and creates sophistication around itself. The empire line dress was fitted till the wait and was left to fall in an A line pattern with enclosed pleats. The tangerine tango and black looked like a deadly combination.
On the same dual tone line was Designer Tegin who rather created a gothic bride kind of look with the tangerine gown and black net long veil cum cape. As again the combination looked lethal and beguiling.
Minimalistic
The most appealing and balanced out factor was seen in designer Calvin Klein collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion week. Although this dress does not have anything major to flatter people but the color covers up for the design flaw. It’s simple and lacks shape but the construction is wonderful. The mono tone pulls it away from a mundane look.
Also working on the lines of Minimalism was designer Jung wan. The dress is absolutely stunning with a lethal combination of tangerine gold and black gray tones. The deep v neck dress has an asymmetrical slit hem line and is absolutely captivating. It’s sexy and defines style to the fullest. At the same event was designer Narciso Rodriguez with the minimalistic approach. The silhouette was simple semi fitted dress. What was interesting was the combination of the ecstatic tangerine with a shiny statin dark gold color. The base was the dark gold which had the tangerine rectangular blocks. Interesting and remarkable!
So you see how this color has been ruling the fashion week and it should soon rule your wardrobe too.
