Actress and model Sofia Vergara was a vision in off-white at the Golden Globe Awards 2012 Nominations. Yes, we know she’s beautiful anyway and would look amazing even in dungarees and flip-flops. But some clothes are made to accentuate beauty, and this lovely gown falls into that category.
The 39-year-old wore an off-white David Meister Signature halter retro dress with gray and silver embroidery in floral and leaf patterns. The figure-hugging bodice was off-set by the slight flare of the knee-length skirt. All those corny lines about angels falling from heaven or princesses stepping out of storybooks pop into mind when you look at her.
She accessorized this gorgeous outfit with nude pumps from Casadei, and a pair of turquoise Tresor earrings. The nude pumps are an inspired choice. White or off-white shoes would have been a bit much, and any other shade would have looked gaudy.
This Colombian stunner doesn’t need much else to look ravishing. Her brown tresses were left to fall loose from a center parting. No natural makeup for this dress though – Sofia wore a soft red on her lips, a little blush, and darkened her peepers with eye-liner and mascara.
Get The Look
A halter dress is the way to go to highlight your clavicles and to make your breasts seem bigger. The flare of the skirt is a time-tested way of hiding a generous derrière, drawing eyes to the small waist instead.
You should never mess with accessories with an embroidered off-white dress. If you must add color, let it be so subtle that it is barely noticed, just like Sofia’s earrings.
A retro dress like this is best worn at night. It’s a great way to feel and look beautiful on a romantic date. It will add elegance to any event that you wear it to.
