Frequently seen on evening gowns and wedding dresses, a long floor-sweeping train makes a dress appear more voluminous and glamorous. Attached at the rear of the dress, a train trails along the floor and varies in length and volume.
2010 was a year of trains with celebrities making red carpet entry in train gowns and dresses. We saw a lot of these at the Oscars.
We usually see train attached to floor-length gowns and dresses, but rarely come across mini-dress with a long train. Jessica Alba and Miley Cyrus sported the look at different red carpet events.
Gorgeous actress Jessica Alba walked down the red carpet of “Machete” Premiere in September wearing a stunning Valentino strapless black mini-dress with a court train. The train extended approximately 1 foot beyond the hem of the gown. She completed her look with Ferragamo black stilettos and clutch.
She rocked the look.
Singer Miley Cyrus left no heads unturned at the 2010 AMA’s when she walked down the red carpet in a firm-fitted white Marchesa dress. The strapless mini-dress featured silver accented bands tightly wrapping around her body and had an endless fabric train. The train extended approximately 3 to 4 feet beyond the hem of the gown. She finished her outfit with Christian Louboutin peep-toe silver studded heels and Neil Lane jewelry.
I don’t really understand how Miley would have managed to walk with such a long piece of fabric hanging at the back of her dress. Her dress would have looked better without the train. Though, she carried off the look quite well.
