French avant-garde fashion house, Martin Margiela known for its quirky raw material has pulled off another one. They have sewn 29,000 plastic price tag fasteners together to make a faux fur coat. The garment was showcased at the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Triennial where curator Matilda McQuaid said that the piece gives a message about sustainability albeit in a humorous way.
This though is not the first bizarre material used by Margiela – the fashion house has previously transformed combs, wigs and shoelaces into couture.
