Innovation in textiles is reaching new heights day by day. Recent advancement is a pair of innovative socks that reduce the chances of blister formation on the wearer’s feet.
The socks are comfortable to wear, don’t rub the skin and the fibers take up and store sweat as quickly as possible.
Developed by Swiss researchers and experts from armasuisse, the prototype footwear, reduces friction at the toes and heels, absorbs perspiration and is highly comfortable.
The main requirements to be met were that the socks should be as comfortable as possible, avoid rubbing the skin, and that the fibers should take up and store sweat as quickly as possible.
The novel socks were also tested for their wearing properties. The socks were subjected to a hard test at the Aarau barracks where 60 recruits wore the socks on daily route marches.
