I&B ministry have banned FTV for showing the visuals of topless women in a presentation of the fashion designer Alexander McQueen’s collection in Barcelona that was held in 2001.
The government has smacked a 10-day ban explaining that the show degraded women and the visuals were not acceptable for kids and unrestricted public exhibition violating the Cable Television Network (Regulations) Act.
The ban starts from Friday 12th March 2010 evening and will continue till 21st March 2010. This is the second time when FTV has been forbidden. It was earlier banned for a couple of months between May-June 2007 for telecasting programs like ‘Midnight Hot’ that showed skimpily-clad models.
