At the screening of “Big Sur” at the 56th Annual San Francisco International Film Festival in San Francisco, California on April 28, Kate Bosworth borrowed a look from the past which translated beautifully to the contemporary red carpet.
What she wore:
Little black vintage dress by Oscar de la Renta

Big Sur is based in the 1960s and that’s the decade that inspired Kate’s outfit choice for the evening. She sported a delightfully chic and uber-stylish knee-length black dress by couture designer Oscar de la Renta.
The figure-hugging number was cinched in at the waist by a diamond-buckle belt, also de la Renta.

Her accessories were effortlessly vintage – a black box clutch by Devi Kroell, diamond stud earrings, a ring by Graziela and black pumps.
Hair and makeup:
Tight curls; red lips

In keeping with the vintage look, Kate went with a slick curly do that was popular in the 60s. As were her subtly mascarraed peepers and blazing red lips in a shade that was again reminiscent of a time gone by.
This is one of the best vintage avatars we’ve seen in a long time! It’s classic!
