We love when the celebs bring some color to the red carpet – especially bright, happy bursts of it like Alexandra Roach did at the UK premiere of The Iron Lady at BFI Southbank in London on January 4.
The 24-year-old wore a 60s-style, sleeveless, daisy-yellow dress by Emily Wickstead. The knee-length number had a delicate, dreamy floral pattern running across the bodice and down the front of the skirt. Alexandra looks quite fetching in this wondrous little dress. The colors especially are life-affirming and youthful, which add to the charm of the beautiful Welsh actress.
Alexadnra paired the dress with pointy black heels. Keeping with the 60s theme, she did her brown hair up in a beehive with a yellow clip, with her bangs combed down the front.
Her makeup too reflected her commitment to the look. She wore mascara, eye liner, and blue eye shadow. Her lips were a rosy pink shade, and a subtler pink blushed her cheeks.
We lovet this look, and hope that other celebs this year are as adventurous in the color department as Alexandra.
Get The Look
If you want to make a style statement, let your ensemble take a trip to the past. The 50s and 60s were revolutionary years in fashion. Many designers today will render more modern takes on styles from that era and have collections dedicated to those decades. Several boutiques carry 60s-style dresses with clean, modern cuts, so it should be quite easy to lay your hands on one.
Your hair and accessories will matter greatly when trying to pull off a 60s look. Depending on the length of your hair and how much time you have, you can opt for a hairdo from the 60s and give it your own modern touch. If you are unsure of what shoes to wear, stick to pumps.
