Trevor Project’s Hero Award will be presented to Lady Gaga this year for her campaigns that fight for gay rights.
The pop star is very vocal about equal rights and encourages youth empowerment through her foundation Born This Way, which will be recognized and applauded at the Trevor Live event.
CEO of the Trevor Project David McFarland said that it is vocal celebs like Gaga who will help to change the culture and thinking of the nation, thus creating a better future not just for youth but for the world at large. He further stated that they were proud to honor the singer as her work allows young people to be who they are.
Trevor Project’s gala will be held at the Hollywood Palladium on December 4. Other celebs likely to attend include singer Miley Cyrus, Mary J. Blige, Fergie, as well as actors Darren Criss and Chris Colfer from Glee.
