The sheer dress which arguably played a defining part in the royal love story between Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton is touted to be worth almost $160,000 after the couple ties the knot on April 29. British auctioneer Greasbys has estimated the value of the completely see-through black and gold silk thread dress at about $15,000 currently and its value is predicted to exceed $160,000 after the royal wedding, reports the Daily Mail.
The dress was worn by Middleton at a student fashion show at the St Andrews University where the Prince first saw the brunette beauty. Charlotte Todd had designed the $45 lingerie-dress. Todd recently told Daily Mail that she had no intentions of auctioning off the dress though she will happily gift it to Middleton in exchange of a wedding invite.
